The course crosses major bridges including the Tsing Ma and Ting Kau bridges and follows urban expressways, passing through West Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay, and finishing at Victoria Park. Unlike typical flat city courses, Hong Kong is known for the pronounced gradients on bridge approaches and tunnel sections, with considerable cumulative climbing, making it one of Asia's more challenging city marathons.
