The London Marathon is a member of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and is held every April in London, UK.
The course starts in Greenwich, follows both banks of the Thames through central London, passes landmarks including Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace, and finishes around St James's Park. The route is largely flat with little climbing, but the urban roads are narrow and turn frequently, so pacing needs attention.
